BASECAMP

This year we have limited space for camper vans, there are 10 available, please see separate camper van tickets if still available.

We will be providing you with breakfasts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and dinner on Friday and Saturday. Yum...

No, this is because many people will be arriving late on-site, food will be available on-site to buy.

We will be providing toilets, showers, mobile phone charging stations (no tent electrics), we also have use of the social club, hall, bar, and restaurant for the duration of the event. See Basecamp page for more information.

Dalavich has an excellent and well stocked village shop, but it's a village shop, so you might struggle to get the more exotic ingredients.

Yes!  However prior to and during paddle alcohol is banned. You can bring your own, but you will not be allowed into the social club with your own drinks, we love you to support local and buy / drink the fine selection of beverages provided in the bar of the social club.

the paddle

We have a high winds plan, if winds are very high and are either SW or NE we will provide transport for yourself and iSUP boards and will run a 40km downwinder on one day and paddle to explore  Innes Chonnel castle another.

This is a mammoth paddle on a flat day, it's rarely flat on Awe due to its remoteness and sheer size, we have chosen to circumnavigate the Loch so you will be paddling into headwinds for at least half of your challenge, but then you also will get the benefit of paddling downwind.

Each team will be provided with a GPS tracker and we will have a number of safety boats on the water.

PFD (can be waist-mounted inflatable), leash, first aid kit, survival bag, mobile phone in a waterproof pouch, waterproof torch, suitable footwear, neoprene/drysuit, waterproof cag, change of clothes.

Yes, you will have 8 hours to complete Friday's paddle (5.75km/h) and 6 hours to complete Saturday's paddle (4.83km/h).  Extra time may be provided if winds are higher, this may bring Fridays start time forward.

If you are not making the checkpoint cut offs, we reserve the right to remove you from the water and will transport you back to Basecamp. You will still  be permitted to paddle the following day.

Snacks and water will be available at either end of the Loch at our turn around points. In addition our safety boats will also be carrying some limited supplies.
